Cookie policy
We use cookies and browser storage to run untatu. Optional browser analytics starts only with your permission. Server-side game records and error reporting run separately.

Essential cookies (always on)
These cookies support the features you use and remember your privacy choice. They may contain identifiers sent to our servers and processed by our service providers. They are not used for advertising.
locale Remembers your language choice for 1 year.
tv_session Keeps the paired player's ID, name, and Premium status in TV mode. A browser-session cookie, cleared when you sign out of the TV. Ending a game room does not sign the TV out; browsers may restore session cookies.
untatu_refresh_token Keeps your account signed in through our authentication server. Expires after 30 days, renewed when your session refreshes, and cleared on sign-out. Page scripts cannot read this cookie.
untatu_cookie_consent Remembers your analytics choice for 180 days. If the analytics notice changes materially, we ask you to allow it again.
untatu_analytics_sdk_consent Stores the same allow-or-refuse choice for the analytics software once it has started. Lasts 180 days and contains no player identity.
Other browser storage
Local storage remembers your guest name and ID, account access token, language, and sound and game preferences. These entries have no automatic browser expiry. Sign-out clears the account token; signing in or out clears guest identity. Preferences remain until changed or you clear site data.
Session storage holds the TV avatar, sign-in return destination, and temporary audio navigation state. These values are cleared when their feature finishes, you sign out of the TV, or the browser tab session ends, as applicable.
Storage on your device does not mean the information stays there: credentials authenticate requests, and player names, IDs, avatars, and gameplay information are sent to provide the service and shown to other players where needed. Clearing site data can sign you out and reset preferences.
Optional browser analytics (off unless you allow it)
If you allow browser analytics, PostHog receives page visits and usage events, such as starting a game, together with browser information, persistent identifiers, and your player ID and name when available, including for guests. This links activity across visits to help us improve untatu. These records are not anonymous.
PostHog uses a cookie and local storage named ph_[project-key]_posthog, plus related session-storage entries for the browser tab. The cookie lasts 180 days from its latest write; local storage has no automatic browser expiry. When you turn analytics off, we stop optional capture and clear its identity storage on this site. Your allow-or-refuse choice remains. Session replay is disabled.
Your choice applies to this browser and site address; other devices or site addresses may have a separate choice. Withdrawing permission does not delete records already sent. Contact us about deletion. We do not use advertising trackers or sell personal data.
Anonymous page counts (no cookies)
On the home, sign-in, sign-up and guest pages, we count visits and button taps anonymously so we can see how people find untatu. Nothing is stored on your device: no cookie and no browser storage. A temporary identifier lives only in this tab's memory and disappears when you reload or close it, so visits are never linked to each other or to you.
PostHog receives the page or button, whether you use a phone or a computer, and the website you came from (a domain such as google.com, not a full address). It does not receive your name, player ID, room code or location, and builds no profile. PostHog may receive your IP address with the request.
We never count players we know are under 18, even anonymously. If you refuse browser analytics or your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we do not count you either.
Server-side records and error reporting
Our game server keeps records needed to operate rooms and Account gameplay history. Identified server-side gameplay metrics are currently not sent to PostHog. These records are independent of the optional browser analytics choice.
PostHog also receives limited technical error reports to help us keep untatu reliable. We do not intentionally send your player ID, name, room code, or request path in these reports. PostHog may receive your IP address. Reporting runs independently of optional analytics and uses a temporary browser identifier in memory. See the privacy policy for its legal basis, retention, international processing, and your rights.
